Services Provided
In all our programs and services, PEERS staff members use their own life experiences to know where and how to connect with sex trade workers.
- Advocacy regarding custody and legal concerns, discrimination based on someone being in the sex trade, court support
- Help with finding affordable housing
- Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) prevention and education services as part of a national working group across Canada that links sex trade workers and health officials to develop strategies that address the many issues surrounding FAS, including the lack of services for those affected by FAS
- Housing subsidies of up to $116.50 a month through BC Housing
- Beauty Day every Friday afternoon from 1 pm to 3 pm — hair and massage
- In-house access to female doctor and nutritionist
- Support in getting to important appointments
- Nightly outreach from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Victoria's outdoor sex worker stroll
Services offered include needle exchange, condoms, food and coffee at our mobile drop-in, referral, advocacy and hospital visits. Outreach in the downtown and to supporting agencies Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
